When I sat down to rearrange this song, there was really only one thing on my mind: "What if I opened it with a choir?" Everything else spun out from there... the only elements I deliberately ported over from the original project were the chord progressions, the bassline, and the faux-arp originally played on guitar.
As soon as I sat down to record the final, powerful refrain, I realized how much of this song relies on the vocal performance. I actually had a mild panic attack in the process, and had to go cool off before I finally nailed it. It was so important to get it just right, to get the vocals just right, and ultimately I think I did it justice. It actually gives me chills. I hope it gives you chills. Unless you don't like that, in which case pick your preferred sensation and roll with it.
lyrics
Stay still with me
My company
And let's just be
Still silently
Stay still with me
Why must it be
The roots and leaves
Start falling to pieces
When you leave me?
Hah, stay still with me
The weather's cold and
The water's freezing
I need support cause
I cannot stand alone
I'm waiting for the day
The sun will shine it's rays
I'm trembling, will you hold my hand
One more time?
They're calling me out
I'm breaking down now
I know I must be
Causing so much grief when viewed
Cutting away from thee
The tears go straight to me
I'm trembling, would
you just leave and let me be
But you came then
My only friend
You saved me from my end
Stay still with me
My company
And let's just be
Still silently
Stay still with me
Why must it be
The roots and leaves
Start falling to pieces
When you leave me?
Hah, stay still with me
The weather's warm and
I've started burning
The town's alarmed but
Not doing a thing about it
I'm left there in the flames
With not a single gaze
I'm trembling, I've
Really done it now, this time
But you came then
My only friend
And put out the fire that
Had engulfed me
But you came when
I was to end
And almost left again
Stay still with me
My company
And let's just be
Still silently
Stay still with me
Why must it be
The roots and leaves
Start falling to pieces
When you leave me?
Hah, stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me
Stay still with me

Circus's "715" is an excellent evolution of his sound and style since the "Lucid" days. I'm extremely proud to be part of it (on "Patches", "Castaway" remix), and thoroughly enjoy the entire album. nostraightanswer
Melt came into my orbit by covering a song I recorded for Circus-P. Since then, her own sound has become something quite special, and has made herself a mainstay of the English VOCALOID scene. nostraightanswer
