Originally written for the MAIKAVERSE compilation album.
No one will believe me, but at one point this was inspired by Sonic Forces. Seriously. I had just finished that game and was sort of a mess with how much I loved it (in terms of the story. Gameplay was lacking). I think I started writing this song about my OC's journey, being inspired by a role model (Sonic) to push forward.
Eventually, it turned into something more like a love song. Wanting to make a future for oneself that could be shared with someone precious. Importantly, it starts as a passive "waiting for" and becomes an active "fighting for" that dream.
lyrics
Longing for
Something more
Breaking free
What could I be?
It touches me to the core
What you seem ready for
What I find
Was a sign
Within my heart
From the very start
But I'm afraid to follow through
So I'll learn from what you do
I could count to infinity
And I would wait for eternities
To have a space just for you and me
Somewhere safe, like a pleasant dream
When the darkness falls, I'll be
There for you at your calling
And when it's time to take our leave
We'll have a place in infinity
Back before
Before the war
The things I feared
When they drew near
I turned tail and ran away
Felt I'd live another day
But what I felt
As time was dealt
Dissatisfied, as if by design
But then you came into my life
Showed me ways to face my fight
I could count to infinity
And I would wait for eternities
To have a space just for you and me
Somewhere safe, like a pleasant dream
When the darkness falls, I'll be
There for you at your calling
And when it's time to take our leave
We'll have a place in infinity
But I don't wanna wait, no more
Cuz I know what I'm fighting for
Somewhere in the dark, I'll be
Fighting for my infinity
No, I don't wanna wait, no more
Cuz I know who I'm fighting for
Till the day I die, I'll be
Fighting for our infinity
So I'm not gonna wait, no more
Cuz I know what I'm fighting for
Somewhere in the dark, I'll be
Fighting for my infinity
So I'm not gonna wait, no more
Cuz I know who I'm fighting for
Till the day I die, I'll be
Fighting for our infinity

Circus's "715" is an excellent evolution of his sound and style since the "Lucid" days. I'm extremely proud to be part of it (on "Patches", "Castaway" remix), and thoroughly enjoy the entire album. nostraightanswer
Melt came into my orbit by covering a song I recorded for Circus-P. Since then, her own sound has become something quite special, and has made herself a mainstay of the English VOCALOID scene. nostraightanswer
