Written just prior to and inspired by Hurricane Irma.
I wrote it as a love song, more specifically an on-off relationship. It represents a sort of power that this other person holds on the performer (in this case, me), and how that sort of relationship plays out. Ultimately, [I] accept the power that I have in the situation, but leave it sort of ambiguous; do [I] continue with this relationship or do [I] put an end to it?
lyrics
Deep breath, take the dive
Don't believe that I'll survive
And yet, you could carry on
No death, no surprise
No divine intervention could
Prove you were ever wrong
I cry to myself
Wonder why you never helped
When I needed you the most
Came out of my shell
Now I'm living through a hell
Like I'm stranded on a coast
So you dragged me out to sea
Hoist the anchor onto me
As you let it sink, and I barely blink
I'm falling underneath you
I don't wanna suffocate, no more
I don't wanna hit the ocean floor
Pounding in my chest, my very core
My heart a safety vest, but then it tore
(I don't wanna suffocate, no more)
(I don't wanna hit the ocean floor)
With a hold on nothing, I'll slip away
Face a thousand torrents and roaring rain
When it's time to face the hands of fate
Know if I fall under, I'll suffocate
My back to the wind
Just want you to let me in
All it takes is an open door
Our breath, our sin
Can we stop if we begin?
It's a pain, that we're wanting more
We say we don't mind
But we're just passing the time
Till we scatter or reform
And I know I'm flying blind
But it's just simply unkind
To be stirring up a storm
So you dragged me out to sea
Hoist the anchor onto me
As you let it sink, and I barely blink
I'm falling underneath you
I don't wanna suffocate, no more
I don't wanna hit the ocean floor
Pounding in my chest, my very core
My heart a safety vest, but then it tore
(I don't wanna suffocate, no more)
(I don't wanna hit the ocean floor)
With a hold on nothing, I'll slip away
Face a thousand torrents and roaring rain
When it's time to face the hands of fate
Know if I fall under, I'll suffocate
I don't wanna suffocate, no more
But I've already hit the ocean floor
Pounding in my chest, my very core
I'll become the eye of my own storm
I won't wait to suffocate
Cuz I now control the chains
Of my own fate

Circus's "715" is an excellent evolution of his sound and style since the "Lucid" days. I'm extremely proud to be part of it (on "Patches", "Castaway" remix), and thoroughly enjoy the entire album. nostraightanswer
Melt came into my orbit by covering a song I recorded for Circus-P. Since then, her own sound has become something quite special, and has made herself a mainstay of the English VOCALOID scene. nostraightanswer
